I wasn’t prepared to launch the blog just yet. However, this is a crazy time where nothing seems to be going quite as any of us planned, thanks to the current worldwide coronavirus pandemic.
Many of you have suddenly found yourselves in charge of your kids’ educations – some of you while also being forced to work at home until further notice. You’re worried about how to juggle school work, your work, feeding everyone three meals a day (plus snacks), and keeping toilet paper in the house. Not to mention all the other emotional stress and concerns this situation brings to us all. My heart goes out to all of you and your families.
I’ve been a work-at-home, homeschooling mom for a while. I’ve put together a few free kids’ home workouts that I’ve discovered over the years. These resources will help keep your kids physically active and get some of their energy out while stuck at home.
Be sure you’re getting your exercise in, too. It will help you manage stress and give you a much needed boost to get through this challenging time.
I’m amazed at all the wonderful resources that are becoming available daily to help keep kids active and engaged in this unprecedented situation. I will try to update as new workouts and activities for kids pop up.
Cosmic Kids Yoga
Cosmic Kids blends yoga and mindfulness with imaginative storytelling. It’s a wonderful way to start, breakup, or end the day.
Les Mills Born to Move
Did you know that Les Mills has fun, free kids’ workout videos as part of their Born to Move series? Look for the videos without the little lock icon in the lower right corner. These are available without a subscription.
Fitness Blender Kids Workout
Fitness Blender has a free 25 Minute Fun Workout for Kids at Home that takes users through three different games to burn off all that excess energy.
GoNoodle Good Energy at Home
GoNoodle is offering a free online resource called Good Energy at Home to help kids and families learn and move together at home.
Walk at Home
I’ve been doing Leslie Sansone’s Walk at Home workouts for a couple of years and love them. Walk at Home offers many free workout videos on Youtube. The whole family can workout to most all of them, but kids will especially enjoy the Walk 15 Family Mile with Nick. There’s also a Teen Walk for the older kids!
If you try any of these free home workouts for kids let me know what you think in the comments below!
